I saw Dr. Amann for a last-minute second opinion for my hip. He was extremely knowledgeable and helped to identify and address my concerns, even with my lengthy and complicated medical history. It is difficult to find a physician who is experienced with hypermobile patients and the complications that can arise in treating them, but Dr. Amann is one of them. Dr. Amann performed total reverse shoulder surgery on me in May 2024. He explained what I should expect, and that’s exactly what happened. No surprises. At each post-op office visit, including the last one, 4 months post-op, Dr. Amann examined my progress, and told me the next step. He even referred me to a colleague near my winter address, in case I developed any problems, which, of course he didn’t expect, but he was always concerned about my health and safety. Dr. Amann operated to repair my wrist after I broke a bone in five pieces rollerskating. He saw me right away, was both warm and professional, and did a fabulous job. When I started physical therapy, my PT couldn't believe how well my wrist had healed; he assumed from my range of motion that I was at least a month further from surgery than I was. It is a year later now, and my wrist healed beautifully: only a very thin scar and some achiness in certain weather, and have 98% function back!Read more
