Surgeon Itai Gans, M.D. Joins Premier Orthopaedics

NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa. – Premier Orthopaedics welcomes Itai Gans, M.D., a highly skilled orthopaedic surgeon, to its enterprise-wide group of 74 physicians. Dr. Gans will see patients in Premier’s Coatesville, Collegeville, Exton and Malvern locations.
Dr. Gans is a local product who earned his undergraduate degree at Penn State University, and medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at Johns Hopkins Medicine, in Baltimore, Maryland, where his complex research earned an Orthopaedic Research Education Foundation Research Award. Dr. Gans completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine, Cartilage Restoration and Pediatric/Adolescent Sports Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and affiliated Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia program. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the Philadelphia Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.
As head team physician for Coatesville High School and former assistant team physician for the Archbishop Bonner-Prendergast High School football team and University of Pennsylvania’s NCAA football, wrestling and gymnastics teams, Dr. Gans provides specialized conservative and surgical sports medicine treatment to competitive athletes. He has a keen interest in adult and pediatric ACL reconstruction, arthroscopy, cartilage restoration, and osteoarthritis of the knee, hip and shoulder. He believes that education is especially important, and takes great pride in helping his patients achieve optimal clinical outcomes.
In his personal time, Dr. Gans enjoys cycling, rock climbing, boating, and spending time with his wife and infant son. He is a former high-level competitive gymnast and national champion competitive kite flyer.
