Premier named founding partner of Philadelphia union
In October Premier, along with Crozer-Keystone Health System signed a 10 year contract with Keystone Sports and Entertainment as the founding partner of Philadelphia’s First Major League Soccer Team. The agreement lists Premier as the team’s sole-healthcare partner making Premier the official team doctors along with being the sole provider of Physical Therapy. In addition, Premier will receive fixed and digital signage around the stadium and signage during ground-breaking and building. The owner of the Major League Soccer expansion franchise slated to begin play in 2010, held a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of construction for its $115 million, 18,500 seat stadium in Chester, Pa. The new structure will also have a waterfront park and plaza used not only for stadium entry, but also for city sponsored events such as festivals. The new stadium is the centerpiece of a $500 million entertainment, retail, residential and commercial development covering more than 100 acres along the historic Delaware River waterfront. Dr. Charles Hummer III and Dr. Jim McGlynn will be the official team physicians. Dr Hummer says, “While I am excited about being one of the team physicians, I am also excited about this great opportunity to be a part of a project that will have a positive effect on local community development.”
